In accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of St. Augustine, Language Arts will cover the following topics:
- Grammar & Punctuation
- Vocabulary
- Effective word choice
- Application of literary techniques
- Writing pieces that persuade, entertain, and inform
- Taking pieces through the writing process
- MLA formatting and citations
- Public Speaking
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in writing contests, a Scripps National Spelling Bee qualifier, and a 4th – 8thgrade schoolwide speech competition.
